Lynne
One day, while looking over the underused horse pen in our yard, I shared with my husband a dream of transforming it into a garden bursting with peonies, perennials, and fresh-cut flowers for sale. It was a bold idea, especially considering my husband's favourite role as the Minister of Grass. Convincing him to embrace this dream and trade grass for gardens was no easy sell — it was in fact, quite the challenge!
Fast forward to Spring of 2024, and that once-empty horse pen is now teeming with hundreds of perennials, around 7000 tulip bulbs, and 650 flourishing peonies. Another fence has come down, and we've expanded into the second horse pen. Meanwhile, construction is underway for a greenhouse and high tunnel. But the most exciting development? Welcoming Kelly, our first employee, to the Staal Gardens team. Kelly's enthusiasm and expertise are invaluable, and I couldn't be more thrilled to continue on this journey of growth together.
My late father-in-law imparted a valuable lesson: gardening is an ongoing evolution that never truly ends. I find beauty in this notion, embracing the ever-changing landscape of my floral endeavours. My passion for flowers, floral design, and gardening all stem from the sheer happiness they bring me. There's a profound sense of grounding and fulfilment that comes from working hand-in-hand with nature and exploring endless creative possibilities. And there's nothing quite like the joy of seeing someone's face light up when they receive fresh flowers – especially when they're locally grown.
I firmly believe that there is room for everyone to pursue their dreams — I finally carved out the space to follow mine. I'm thrilled to invite you on this flower-filled journey with me! Whether you're curious about what's new, interested in making a purchase, or simply want to connect, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'd love to hear from you and share in the beauty of Staal Gardens together.

My name is Kelly Paproski and I was thrilled when Lynne reached out to me about working alongside her.
I took the Commercial Floristry Certificate program at Olds College in 1998/99. From there I worked in Calgary and Saskatoon as a florist until I met my future husband, Cory. We Moved to Edson in 2001 and were married in 2004. Unable to find work as a florist, I worked a couple other jobs until we had our son Braiden in 2005. I then became a stay-at-home mom for about 7 years until I decided to start cleaning houses. But I was always hoping to get back to my florist roots!
If you know me, you know I love being creative. Floristry is the perfect job for this part of me! Joining Lynne has been a dream come true! She has so many amazing ideas and plans for Staal Gardens and I’m excited to see what the future working with her brings!
